MANHATTAN, KS - The Men of Acacia and Young Men of Acacia joined in welcoming nine sororities, including homecoming partner Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, back to campus for the fall 2009 semester on August 23, 2009. K-State Serenades is also an opportune time for Acacia to celebrate in the growth of the K-State Greek Community by congratulating the new member classes.

Highlighting the day was Br. Robby Haynes '08 who soloed on the acoustic guitar and sang "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You" by Alabama before the rest of the Men of Acacia joined in the chorus and danced with the new member classes of each sorority. The Chapter closed with a more light-hearted, comical tune by Will Farrell titled "Afternoon Delight".

"K-State Serenades was a very enjoyable experience for everyone involved in the Chapter," said Junior Dean Br. Andrew Broeckelman '09. "The sororities were very receptive and seemed to thoroughly enjoy our performance."

K-State Serenades is a Greek Community-wide event held annually every August before classes start for the fall semester. The purpose is not only to welcome the new members and sorority as a whole back to campus, but also to meet new people in the K-State Greek Community and begin building lasting ties at the start of the year as we grow together and assist in the betterment of the Manhattan area.
