K-State Acacia Completes Drive-by-Raking Service Project

MANHATTAN, KS – It is that time of year again. As the cool weather approaches and the trees turn bare, it signals that K-State Acacia will soon be raking in leaves for the Drive-by-Raking human service event. The Chapter teamed up with AICHE, the Chemical Engineering Student Organization at Kansas State on November 22 to rake leaves in the community.

The Chapter raked leaves for residents of the Manhattan area, especially for the elderly or for those who are physically unable. This is the eighth time the Chapter has participated in this event.

"This is an annual staple to our human service program," said Philanthropy Chair Br. Austin Enns '09. "Drive-by-Raking is a great time for the Men of Acacia to have a lot of fun and help out the community at the same time."

The Chapter is very thankful for Br. Enns' efforts in coordinating the event. This is the second time that Br. Enns has directed Drive-by-Raking.

"Br. Enns' dedication to this event has been tremendous, and the Chapter as well as the Manhattan community is very appreciative of that," said Junior Dean Br. Andrew Broeckelman '09.

Drive-by-Raking is an annual community service event that the Chapter has organized since the refounding of the K-State Chapter in 2001.
