| MANHATTAN, KS – The Kansas State Chapter of Acacia Fraternity is proud to announce its newly elected Leadership Team and the 2010 Executive Council after the annual elections held on November 29, 2009.
Br. Christopher Dolezal '09, sophomore in Biological Systems Engineering and Pre-Medicine from Valley Center, KS, was unanimously chosen by the Chapter to serve as the Chapter President and will become the 95th Venerable Dean of the Kansas State Chapter of Acacia Fraternity. The Venerable Dean is responsible for proper conduct of chapter meetings, leads the Executive Council, and serves as the liaison to the Interfraternity Council at Kansas State, the Senior Men of Acacia Board of Directors, and the International Fraternity.
Along with Br. Dolezal, 13 other members were tapped by the Chapter to serve in various roles, including six Executive Council members.
Br. Brandon Brunner '09, sophomore in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, was selected to serve as the Chapter's Senior Dean. The Senior Dean is in charge of the marquee in-house leadership series, the Coordinated Opportunities Resulting in Excellence program. This program is designed to develop the leadership skills of the Men of Acacia and provide them with practical applications for future use. The Senior Dean is also responsible for the Individual Development Plans and brotherhood events. Br. Brunner will head the Internal Committee in addition to overseeing the Scholarship Program and the Young Man Journey.
The Chapter re-elected Br. Andrew Broeckelman '09, sophomore in Biological Systems Engineering, to his post where he served during the 2009 term. Under the leadership of Br. Broeckelman, the External Committee has seen a tremendous growth in the development of the Human Service Program. Br. Broeckelman has also been largely instrumental in hosting several Sorority Functions during his term. As the Chapter’s Junior Dean, Br. Broeckelman will head the External Committee and is in charge of scheduling social events, date parties, community service projects, philanthropies, and coordinating homecoming activities.
Br. Chris Connell '08, junior in Animal Science Business, was chosen to serve as the Chapter's Senior Steward, a position he was elected to during the 2008 term. Br. Connell will head the Operations Committee and is in charge of maintaining the daily operations of the Chapter House including facility maintenance and employee relations.
Br. Brian Moore '09, sophomore in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, was elected to the Secretary/Treasurer position. The Chapter Secretary/Treasurer is responsible for recording the roll and minutes at Chapter Meetings, preparing and maintaining the Chapter's budget and finances, and producing The Acacian Newsletter, the Chapter's biannual newsletter, in conjunction with the Senior Men of Acacia.
Brs. Josh Neufeld '09, sophomore in Biology and Gerontology, and Young Man Brandon Litch, freshman in Agricultural Education, were both elected to serve as the Chapter's Recruitment Chairmen. Br. Neufeld and Young Man Litch are responsible for overseeing the Acacia Leadership Scholarship process and interviews, hosting recruiting events, and contacting potential new members. The recruitment team looks to continue to build on the Chapter's membership boom since 2008. Membership has increased from 23 members to 44 in just 2 years.
The elected officers serve a calendar-year term beginning in January. Br. Dolezal and the Executive Officers will be officially inducted during the Man of Acacia Celebration Weekend on January 15th and 16th, 2010. The weekend includes the Senior Men of Acacia Board of Directors Meeting, Initiation of New Members, and Induction of Officers.

Kansas State Chapter of Acacia Fraternity One of the four original fraternities at Kansas State in 1913, Acacia Fraternity's rich tradition includes five buildings on campus named after Acacians including Seaton, Willard, Waters, Ford and Bushnell Halls.
