| As spring claims K-State's campus, the Acacia community gathers to celebrate the achievement of scholarship winners and key leaders. "In addition to the multiple scholarships awarded to members and high school seniors, this year we honor Mom Ann and Br. Brett Eakin '06, two of the outstanding leaders at Acacia," Br. Lucas Shivers '01, event organizer, said. "This event will be a great way to pay tribute to their years of service to Acacia at K-State."
ANNUAL MEETING Plans for the day include the Senior Men of Acacia Annual Meeting beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the chapter house. The Alumni Board and Men of Acacia will present the state of the chapter. Following the 2010 Annual Meeting, the spring SMOA Board of Directors meeting will cover the latest action for the senior chapter.
LEADERSHIP LUNCHEON The Leadership Luncheon will start at 12:30 p.m. The program will highlight remarks from Mom Ann. Also, the Acacia Leadership Scholarship Recipients will be recognized for the fourth consecutive year.
SERVICE PROJECT In the afternoon, MOA and SMOA will complete a joint Human Service project with Re-Store, a part of Habitat for Humanity. "The service project is a great way to show leadership to take part in the community," Shivers said.
Acacia's motto, Human Service, remains an active part of the chapter's mission. This will be the second year the chapter has brought alumni and active members together for service activity in the Manhattan community.
FOOTBALL SPRING GAME and CASINO NIGHT Following the afternoon of service, the Men of Acacia will be hosting a Casino Night at the Chapter House with blackjack, craps, roulette, and more. MOA will be hosting potential new members and their families.
"The entire Board hopes you will join us in Manhattan to celebrate the scholarship, leadership and service of Acacia," Shivers said.

Acacia Leadership Scholarship Program Introduced in January 2007, the Acacia Leadership Scholarship Program recognizes outstanding incoming male freshman of Kansas State University. Throughout its first three years, the campus-leading scholarship program has awarded more than $30,000 to young men who display excellence in academics, motivation for personal success, and an interest in studying the principles of leadership. The Acacia Leadership Scholarship is presented by the Acacia Alumni Association of Kansas through the great generosity of the Trachsel family, for which the endowment award is named, and through the involvement and assistance of K-State Acacia’s outstanding alumni base.
